The University of Melbourne

The University of Melbourne is the principal partner and naming rights sponsor of Melbourne University Lightning. The university partnered with the Club in 2015.

The University of Melbourne, established in 1853, is currently ranked the No. 1 University in Australia. It has a proud and rich tradition of developing sporting programs and supporting elite and emerging athletes that dates back more than 100 years.

The partnership is supported by Melbourne University Sport, and the Club is afforded all of the opportunities and resources available to the University’s 45 affiliated clubs. This support includes access to the University’s indoors sports courts and aquatic and fitness centre, meeting rooms, professional staff support from within the University and inclusion in the University’s very successful Elite Athlete Program.

 Bendigo Bank

The Clifton Hill North Fitzroy Community Branch of the Bendigo Bank became a Gold partner of Melbourne University Lighting in 2019. Together we are supporting sporting opportunities for disadvantages communities within the City of Yarra.

The branch is located in Clifton Hill and is committed to creating positive change in the local community by creating opportunities and reducing disadvantage for young people.

City of Yarra

The City of Yarra will partner with the Club in 2020 to support the delivery of the Club’s “ON GOAL - Education & Netball” program for female Indigenous and African Australian school students living in the City of Yarra.

Windy Hill Sport & Spinal Physiotherapy Clinic

The Club partnered with Windy Hill Sport & Spinal Physiotherapy Clinic in 2016. The clinic provides a range of integrated services that encompass Sport Medicine, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Myotherapy, Clinical Pilates & Dietetics. The clinic specializes in the development & provision of healthcare services to sporting teams & athletes. The Club utilizes a range of the clinic’s services including:

·         Match day physiotherapy & sports trainer support

·         Physiotherapy support at all club training sessions

·         Pre-season athlete screening

·         Athlete educational seminars in nutrition, injury prevention, recovery, NA Knee Program

·         Priority medical care for all physiotherapy services & referral to additional healthcare services

The partnership enhances the Club’s commitment to providing an elite development pathway for both players & coaches & promotes a culture of health & well-being throughout the Club.

The Clyde Hotel

The Clyde Hotel joined the Club as a Bronze Partner in 2016. The Clyde Hotel is an iconic pub in the heart of Carlton. On the corner of Cardigan and Elgin Streets,

the Clyde is a stone's throw from Melbourne University and has a long history of supporting several of the Melbourne University Sporting Clubs.
