Lightning well represented in 2020 ANL Sqauds
/Congratulations to Maddi Ridley, Jordan Cransberg, Gabby Coffey, Maggie Caris, who were recently selected in the 2020 Vic Fury squad and to Kelsie Rainbow who has been selected in the Tasmanian Magpies squad.
As a feeder competition into Suncorp Super Netball, the Deakin University Australian Netball League (DUANL) provides an opportunity for talented athletes to showcase their skills in a competition that bridges the gap between state league competitions (such as Bupa VNL) and Suncorp Super Netball. The under-pinning competition is vital to the national pathway, not only providing players an opportunity to develop but also coaches, umpires and officials.
While the Victorian Fury has the most successful history in the competition, winning eight titles since the competition’s inception in 2008, the Tasmanian Magpies were premiers in 2018 and finished with a bronze medal in 2019.
The Vic Fury team will be made up of 14 players, with the final team announced in March. The Tasmanian Magpies team of 13 will be made up of Collingwood Magpies’ training partners along with another two Victorian and seven Tasmanian based athletes.
