/The University of Melbourne provides opportunities for students aspiring to study at a university that also supports the student experience through high performance sport. The university has one of the best study-sport environments of any Australian university, and particularly for netball. Victorian Netball League Club, Melbourne University Lightning is based at the University of Melbourne and is the only VNL Club that currently partners with a tertiary institution.
The University of Melbourne’s Elite Athlete Program provides career education and support to all elite athletes. It has set in place a comprehensive sporting, academic & professional mentoring support system to ensure the “brightest & best” athletes are recruited by University Clubs.
Students offered a place to study at The University of Melbourne in 2020 and selected to play with the Melbourne University Lightning VNL Club, will also be eligible for various levels of support through the universities Elite Athlete Program. Prospective students living in regional Victoria & inter-state are eligible for Access Melbourne course entry consideration. Access Melbourne not only provides for a significantly lower course entry ATAR for eligible students but can also provide a variety of scholarship support.
