VNL 2025 Fixture is here!

The 2025 Victorian Netball League fixture has landed. Download the fixture.

Melbourne University Lightning will open the season against Boroondara Express on March 12 at the home of the VNL - Melbourne Sports Centre in Parkville.

The competition will revert to an 18-round season next year, and welcome a Championship team from Gippsland Stars, rounding out 12 teams in both divisions.

Our sole regional match is against Geelong Cougars at Wurdi Baierr Stadium, Torquay in Round 2 on Sunday March 23.

At either end of an 11-round Wednesday night run at Parkville, we’ll again host two home matches at Narrandjeri Stadium in Darebin.

Narrandjeri is the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung word for ‘Women Leader’, with the stadium's name recognising Traditional Owners’ history in the area and promoting women and girls’ participation in sport.

Firstly, we’ll welcome Western Warriors in Round 5 (Wednesday April 16), and then Bendigo Strikers in Round 17 (Wednesday July 9). Both matches take place in respective school holidays, where we aim to run a clinic beforehand to strengthen our relationships in the netball community.

The Club will celebrate its 500th match as Melbourne University Lightning next year in Round 15 against Boroondara Express at Parkville.

The Season Ahead

Also a split round, Round 5 doubles as the season’s Regional Round, where all six fixtures will take place away from Parkville - as far and wide across the state from Altona to Bundoora to Warragul.

We look forward to Pride Round (Round 9 v Peninsula Waves) and First Nations Round (Round 16 v North East Blaze), where our teams will wear our Pride and First Nations dresses to mark the occasions.

The finals format has changed, where it will now feature the top six teams across four weeks of action. All finals will take place at Parkville and begin on Wednesday July 23.
